Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1/2 c. butter Crisco
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 7 to 8 c. flour

Method

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water, let stand.
  • Stir together hot water, Crisco, salt, sugar and eggs.
  • Add cold water.
  • Add yeast dissolved in water.
  • Add flour, mix well.
  • Place on floured board and knead.
  • Put in greased bowl and set in refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
  • Break off and make biscuits.
  • Place in greased pans.
  • Makes about 4 dozen.
  • Let rise about 2 hours. Bake for 25 minutes at 350°.
