Ingredients

  • 10 Quail eggs
  • 5 Chikuwa
  • 1 tbsp Katakuriko
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 10 Toothpicks
  • 2 1/2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Sake
  • 1 tbsp Mirin

Method

  • Boil the quail eggs and peels the shells.
  • Cut the chikuwa in half lengthwise.
  • Wrap around the quail eggs, and secure with toothpicks.
  • Put the katakuriko and Step 1 into a plastic bag as shown in the picture, and gently shake to coat.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan, and fry Step 2 until golden brown.
  • When they become crispy, wipe off the excess oil with a paper towel.
  • Add all the teriyaki sauce ingredients to Step 3, and when they become shiny, they are done.
