Ingredients
- 3 c. white sugar
- 1 c. butter or 2 sticks margarine
- 6 eggs, separated
- 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 tsp. double-strength vanilla flavoring or 2 tsp. if not double strength
Method
- Separate eggs and beat whites until stiff and set aside. Cream sugar, margarine, yolks and vanilla. Sift soda and flour together.
- Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately and mix well.
- Gently fold in egg whites.
- Bake in greased, floured tube pan at 300° for about 2 hours.
- Do not cook too fast, adjust oven.
